Charbel Alkhoury (1993) is a Beirut-born artist and culture worker based in Brussels. Working with video, installations, photography, and community organizing, his practice explores displacement, collective memory, and the unstable terrain between belonging and loss. Drawing from personal archives, digital remnants, and constructed rituals, Alkhoury creates immersive environments that function as portals—aiming to collapse time and space to evoke the emotional gravity of migration. His recent research delves into mythology, radical occult practices, and the political dimensions of magic, treating spells and rituals as acts of resistance and healing. Alongside his individual work, he co-founded the collective Tashattot in 2022, which connects and supports artists and cultural practitioners from the SWANA region across Europe.

Cultural activities: Co-founder of Tashattot Collective:

Tashattot (Arabic for dispersion) is a Belgian art collective supporting visual artists, musicians, filmmakers, and cultural practitioners from the SWANA region now living in Europe. Through residencies, exhibitions, concerts, workshops, anddiscussions, it fosters collaboration and connects expatriate creators with local and international networks. As a fluid, evolving initiative, Tashattot remains open to new ideas, critiques, and feedback, viewing open dialogue as essential to its growth and responsiveness to artists’ needs.
